1. HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF SCHED
- If you want to create a SCHED account, edit your profile, sign-up for an event, make a personal schedule, sync your selected sessions with your calendar app, or delete your account, please check out the SCHED Attendee Guides.
2. HOW TO MAKE SURE YOU'RE SET UP FOR RINGCENTRAL- RingCentral has recently changed their platform. Please click here to download the new app for PC, Mac, Android, or iOS to be able to connect to the online sessions.
- With this new app, you are able to create a "profile" and edit your display name in calls. Please update your name so we are able to identify you in the sessions. "How To" for PC and Mac can be found here.
- If you would like to test your connectivity to the app, please contact Aimee Searle at aimee.searle@apcfnc.ca to book a one-on-one TEST Session.
3. HOW TO ATTEND SESSIONS- Go to https://23rdannualfisheriesconferen2022.sched.com/ and login.
- Hover over your first session for the session description to pop up. Near the top left of the screen, under the session title you will see a "play" button with a ▷ icon that says "Video Stream". Click on this button to open RingCentral.
4. EXPERIENCING SLOW / UNSTABLE INTERNET?- Turn off your camera. Streaming two-way video takes a lot of bandwidth. If people start to freeze or sound like they’re under the sea, turn your camera off.
- Shut down the competition. Where are your kids/partners/roommates? Are they gaming or streaming video? Is your Roomba vacuuming? Turn off as many WIFI-stealing devices as you can.
- Move your modem. Try to position your modem so it is away from walls and is located centrally in your home. If you can’t move your modem, move yourself so you are located more closely to it.
- Change networks. Many modern modems create both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz networks. The 5.0 GHz network is usually faster, but the 2.4 GHz network has better range. Change which network you are connected to in your WIFI settings.
- Connect via ethernet. Connect your device to one of the ethernet ports on the back of your modem using a blue or yellow cable. You may need an adaptor/dongle to connect to ethernet.
